No work scheduled today. The local squirel discovered the garage gone. He barked for what seemed like two hours! I can't wait for his response when the take the wires down, and he has nothing to run along anymore...

Monday, July 19th

Contractor and electrician were here this morning. We have to move all electrical, phone, and cable wires underground. That means the city has to come out give us their plans. We'll have to pay for digging up the alley -- because they want the wires buried. It also means that we need a new electrical panel because the one we have now is for wires coming in from above not below... Ah, the hidden costs of remodeling!

Saturday, July 17th

Everyone slept late today. The workers arrived around 11:30 and finished removing the cement slab. Removal took extra time because it was several feet thick in places.

Later in the day, the superintendent went out and checked their work. She was quite impressed with the job!
