Friday, July 16th

This morning they came and hauled away the debris that used to be the garage. Right now they are breaking up the cement slab and loading it into a truck. It is amazing how fast demolishing the garage is going.

Amber Bad Cat wants to go out and supervise. She hangs around the window and watches. Rbi is under the bed or in the hiding place she uses when Delme cleans. She wants nothing to do with it. The birds don't seem to be bothered at all.

Thursday, July 15th - Demo Begins!

Yesterday, two guys showed up and tore down the garage. It was not quite that simple, we had electricity and gas loss for awhile, but everything went very well.

Then we found that our neighbor's fence went only as far as our garage. Now their dog can visit us freely! A temporary fence goes up tomorrow.

And so we begin

While it has taken many years to get to get started, I am not going to belabor the point. Suffice it to say that the final step of getting the city to sign off took 6 months!

The plan is to tear down and rebuild the garage. Next, cleanup and fix up the media room (the original garage that was made into a bonus room when the garage we are tearing down was built). After these two projects are completed, we will move everything out of the house and into the new garage (hopefully). We will live out of the master bedroom suite and the bonus room for the renovation of the house.
