Sunday, April 22nd

Every week is so hetic; jury trials and I'm working on my grant.  It is so good when the weekend comes!  We brought in more boxes after the Burrito Babes Burrito eating contest, and I unpacks some of our Depression Glass and pottery.  I'm putting the things we are no longer interested in in a box.  Six months from now we will revisit is and, if we still are done with it, we'll sell it!

Friday, March 30th

Went up to Pasadena looking for craftsman house numbers.  Couldn't find them anywhere -- weird.  Did find a small file cabinet for the library in a store that was having a going out of business sale!

 

Miguel was here working on the shingles too.  We choose a semi-transparent gray that has a lot of other colors in it.  The first picture is very true to what it looks like, you can see with and without color.

And I put the mailbox up!

Monday, March 26th

Heaven!  Came home today, dropped the mail on the desk, my coat on the chair, and my bag on the floor.  I went and got a snack in the kitchen and made a phone call, never once going into the bedroom!  After a year of coming home to the bedroom, it feels so great to sit at the computer in its own room and veg.

Even Rbi likes the new room!

Sunday, March 25th

THANK YOU, AARON!  It is cold and raining, and Aaron helped Craig move the heavy pieces of furniture into the house!  It looks great!

Saturday, March 24th

In celebration of my sister Janna's birthday, we bought a new desk for the "library."  Library sounds so much better than "home office" or "computer room."  We will need to get some bookshelves to make the work...

Tuesday, March 20th

Dare I say it?  We are almost done!  They are fixing the little things, cleaning up, and working on the punch list! We started moving back in tonight!  The absolute best part?  The cat box is out of the bedroom closet!  I'll be able to get dressed in the morning without selling cat box!  It's now in the laundry room.  Woot!  Woot!

We also found a chair for Craig's side of the bed.  Now I can sleep while he watches tv, with his headphones of course!

Oh yres, and we found new bedside tables, smaller than we had before, that fit perfectly!

Wednesday, February 22nd

It is official!  We started moving furniture back in tonight!  Happy dance!!!!

The fireplace and bookshelves are finished.  They look great!

And tomorrow they seal the counters!

Friday, February 10th

One of the last inside projects is replacing and staining the book selves by the fireplace.  Miguel, who did all the painting and staining, is a genius with stain.  He takes a lot of pride in doing great job.  It's nice to work with someone like that, and he does a fabulous job!

I'm depressed.  We have now officially been remodeling the house for a year.  The original estimate was 8 months so I figured it would take 10 months.  We are at 12 months and still not moved back in...
